5 PRIVATE FULL DAYS IN ISRAEL
This morning, we drive to Old Jaffa to visit the Church of St. Peter & Simon, the tanner`s house where the vision of peter took place, then on to Caesarea the capital of the Judea province during the roman period, built by Herod the Great & the place where Cornelius, Pontious Pilate & other important figures mentioned in the New Testament stayed there, later, after visiting the Theater, Hippodrome & Herod’s palace, we stop at the Aqueduct. Then continue to Haifa and Mount Carmel to visit the chapel of the
Prophet Elijah, the Carmelite Monastery of Stella Maris and enjoy a beautiful view of the Mediterranean at an observation nearby, drive through the Jezreel Valley & drive up to Mount Tabor to visit the Church of the transfiguration.
Today we will visit the Church of Annunciation in Nazareth where the angel Gabriel announced to Mary that she will bear a son and will be called the son of most high, after it we visit the church of St joseph & the synagogue of Nazareth. then drive to Cana & visit the wedding church, where Jesus’s first sign was revealed ‘changing water into wine & to renew our wedding vows. later on, we drive to
Tiberias and visit the sites around the Sea of Galilee: Capernaum, Tabgha, Mount of Beatitudes, St peters primacy church, Magdala and enjoy a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee.
Our first visit will be at the Church of Nativity, the Holy Manger and the Basilica of St.
Catherine. Then we drive down to the Shepherds’ Field where the angel of the Lord
appeared to the shepherds announcing the birth of Jesus. We continue to the Mount of
Olives for a magnificent view of the Old City. We visit the Church of Pater Noster, the
Chapel of the ascension and the Church of Pater Noster. We walk down to the Church
of Dominus Flevit passing by the Russian Church and ending at the garden of
Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations. We continue to Ein Karem, the birthplace of
John the Baptist where we visit the Church of Visitation before returning to our hotel for
dinner and overnight.
DAY 4: – OLD CITY OF JERUSALEM / MOUNT ZION
After breakfast at our hotel , we start the day by entering the old city of Jerusalem through Stephens gate, visit the Church of St. Anne and the Pools of Bethesda, then we start walking the way of the cross, where Jesus took his cross after he was condemned by Pontius Pilate, 14 stations, the last five are with the church of Resurrection ” for many believers the Garden tomb is the location of Jesus`s tomb”. We walk through the narrow streets to the Cardo and the Wailing Wall, known as the Western Wall. then we go to Mount Zion to visit the last supper room “the Cenacle” & after it we walk down to visit Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu where Peter denied Jesus at the House of the High Priest.
DAY5: -VIA BETHANY , MASSADA , QUMRAN , JERICHO , DEAD SEA
Today we drive VIA Bethany, home to Mary, Martha and their brother Lazarus through the Judean
desert down to ancient Jericho to view Mount of Temptation where Jesus was tempted by the devil. We
drive south to see the fortress of Massada the last stronghold of Jews during the great revolt which led to the destruction of the second temple in Jerusalem , we visit the ruins of Qumran where the dead sea scrolls were discovered 1949, spend the afternoon at the shores of the Dead Sea to enjoy the warm water before returning to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
